Our Team

What our staff has to say about us!

"One of the things that I like most about Building Futures is the flexibility with my schedule. Meaning we can determine when we see our patients, when I have a break, if I need to run errands or have appointments, I can arrange what works best for me. Another thing that I love about Building Futures is the team approach because we have OT, PT and SLP. If I have a patient that could benefit from OT it is easy to grab one of my OT buddies and say can you come screen this patient? To ensure that child is getting everything they need for well rounded care." ~Courtney Dye, Physical Therapist

"All the people that I work with are very encouraging they always uplift you and really want you to succeed in everything that you do. The kids that you meet are so fun. When you come in to Building Futures you get to meet all of the new patients, play games with them and watch them progress. From the first time they come in to their graduation. It is cool to see that progress.
All the learning experiences that we have at Building Futures are going to prepare us for our future jobs and all of people we get to meet. Just being able to build great connections between all of the therapist and different aspects of PT, OT and ST." ~ Carlie Grayson, Therapy Tech

"I love the fact that it keeps you young. They are such wonderful spirited kiddos, they always have fun. You get to come in from the world that may be hard and see their smiling face that makes it so much better.   Team approach is definitely a very important here at Building Futures. There is a lot of collaboration between OT, PT and SLP. We are always getting together to identify which goals they are working on, and how I can carry over their treatment strategies to my treatment strategies, so the patients get the maximum benefit possible from their time here." ~Kylie Reid, Physical Therapy Assistant, Team Lead, Clinic Manager

About Building Futures Pediatric Therapy

About our owners! Jennifer Kelly Reeves, LOTR & Wendy Petrus, MS, CCC-SLP

Jennifer completed her education in occupational therapy in 1998 and went on to work in outpatient and school settings in Wisconsin, North Carolina, Illinois and finally in back home in Louisiana.

She founded Building Futures Pediatric Therapy in 2005 so she could offer a holistic approach to pediatric therapy in an environment that is as personal and home-like as possible. For more than 17 years, she has been working on building a staff that interacts not only with the children but also with families. Her intention is to connect the parents with their children’s therapists so they can get help and advice when they need it.

Her primary focus is, of course, on helping children develop to their full potential. Together with Wendy Petrus, Jennifer has created two facilities with a gym and an array of toys, games and equipment that make therapy fun. She has also assembled an impressive staff that can offer a wide array of therapies to the children of Monroe, Ruston and the surrounding area.

Wendy graduated with her Master’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and began practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Mandeville La in 2007. She moved back home in 2008 where she joined the Building Futures team and became a partner in 2010.

Wendy has always had a passion for helping children and knew very early on that she wanted to work with the pediatric population. She has a strong intention to work with not only the child but also the entire family and instills these ideals and virtues in her team members.
