About Building Futures Pediatric Therapy
About our owners! Jennifer Kelly Reeves, LOTR & Wendy Petrus, MS, CCC-SLP

Jennifer completed her education in occupational therapy in 1998 and went on to work in outpatient and school settings in Wisconsin, North Carolina, Illinois and finally in back home in Louisiana.

She founded Building Futures Pediatric Therapy in 2005 so she could offer a holistic approach to pediatric therapy in an environment that is as personal and home-like as possible. For more than 17 years, she has been working on building a staff that interacts not only with the children but also with families. Her intention is to connect the parents with their children’s therapists so they can get help and advice when they need it.

Her primary focus is, of course, on helping children develop to their full potential. Together with Wendy Petrus, Jennifer has created two facilities with a gym and an array of toys, games and equipment that make therapy fun. She has also assembled an impressive staff that can offer a wide array of therapies to the children of Monroe, Ruston and the surrounding area.

Wendy graduated with her Master’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and began practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Mandeville La in 2007. She moved back home in 2008 where she joined the Building Futures team and became a partner in 2010.

Wendy has always had a passion for helping children and knew very early on that she wanted to work with the pediatric population. She has a strong intention to work with not only the child but also the entire family and instills these ideals and virtues in her team members.
